I worked today had to remove three pines at a camp ground the customer was specific when he stated how he wanted the job done.there are drain lines under the ground so there would be no feeling of big wood he wanted the trees "STEEPLE JACKED"we talked a minute or two when i figured out what he was talking about,(blocking or lowering with rigging hardware rope pulys etc.) new phrase to me,anybody heard this one or mayby some other weird expresion?

No I did look it up and would believe its this simple? Steeplejack: one who builds or fixes steeples.
Make sense now but what are you doing fixing steeples? I thought you did trees?

I looked steeplejacks under google images and found this, If this is what he means.... do you need help with the job?:)

Yes, I had an oldtimer use that term back in GA. I didn't know what he was talking about either but just played along like I did. I finally figured out that he wanted them climbed and pieced out. He was a funny old guy. He told me when he was younger he would "work up" trees like that all the time. Pretty cool old guy. I enjoyed working for him.

You Guys are great. That actually is an old axe&steam engine logging days term used by the old lumberjacks. I have tried to spend some time over on ********, those guys are a little different aren't they?

Good site but it seemed like you had to wade through the backslapping to get to the useful info. I like this site because there's no useful info so you don't have to look hard. :monkey:
