I'll second Nelson Demille he's one of my favorite authors and Up Country is the favorite among his many. Favorite author is W.E.B. Griffin he has several series of books and is still writing. There is a Marine series, Army series, Police, Spec Ops in WWII, Spec Ops today.
I recently enjoyed Happy Happy Happy in an evening.

Yeah... I know... a shameless "plug" for my BIL's book...
But seriously folks... if I didn't think it was a good read, I wouldn't recommend it.
