You arent referring to Clearwater Florida are you? I live near there, and would be glad to attend. What state is the Clearwater you're referring to in?

I was looking forward to Clearwater too, not sure now what is going down. a new venua might be a good idea for an AS member meeting.

Cary,
Sounds like a good idea. I do not really know what I will be up to, my equipment operator training starts Monday, so I do not know for whom, when or where I will be working.
Sorry to hear about your break in employment, although I didn't pick up a real sense of loss in your other post.
Anyway best of luck in whichever way you decide to go.
I image the girls are happy to have Dad around more.

Clearwater Revival

The Clearwater Revival is still happening. Rotax Robert and the Predator will be here, as well as V6Bill, Maggiesboy and their collection of big saws. Everyone is still invited and welcome to attend, and the atmosphere will be unchanged.

The dates are still July 10/11, 2004. Special hotel rates are available for the event. Any more info needed, just contact me via email through here.

Hey Cary,
At this rate, your West Coast thread here may turn out to be the biggest thing to ever hit AS....in the number of views category at least. With a little bit of behind these scenes finesse, we can turn this into a 25,000 hit OT powerhouse like "Get Together This Weekend".

Maybe I'll show up with my 090 G!

Oh wait... its a G....

Cary, you are absolutely correct, it is their choice, and I do hope you decide to come out.
Let us know when the event is and I will see if I can't hook up with Robert and come down as well.

I also have a few tall Douglas firs with reasonable climbing limbs if that's your passion, though please leave your spikes at home!

How tall?

When you start planning for your get together there will be times when you question if its worth all of the troubles that you will have. After you get everyone together and you can finally put faces to names and voices, see the smile on everyone's face and meet the people, it makes it all worth while. It will be a good time.

What I'm proposing is much lower key i.e.(more social/educational than competitive).

caryr, so what your asking is to have 20 to 30 people fly/drive 2000+ miles for a tea party... For those that dont know; caryr's place is awsome, with plenty of wood, (BIG WOOD0) so lets all show up and give him a life-times supply of firewood.

Maybe Lambert and I can finally end our fued as to wiich one of us can clear 5 acres the fastest.

Hi Guys,

I apologize for editing this thread for those of you who feel that you have a valid point. These points however are off topic and against the rules of the forum. They have also been covered to death.

I am not condoning any behavior or passing judgement, just trying to help the forum.

If Robert can get Gypo to go, then I'll show up to speedbag the little weasel. We can have Long Island Iced Teas or Gladiators made with the Daiquiri Whacker. Robert can supply the "strumpets". Hey Bobby, tell Birl and Dave that the pictures of Dave's dyno room are real nice. Ask him how he made out after I talked to him the other day. Maybe if I come out there I'll stop by Sacramento on the way and grab Ken. He'll probably want to ?????slap John, too; and why wouldn't he?

Ah, now we're talking! Precision felling, eh?! Rotax, want another chance to whup my butt???

Cary, how deep is the pond? Maybe I could bring my quick release and parachute, and do a "base jump" drop from a zip line set up over the water....:blob2:

Hope news that I want to show isn't a problem, what with my reputation as a troublemaker and all.. I'd hate to be blamed for keeping attendance down.;)

Here's a shot from Clearwater 2003 felling contest....
