Generally we charge $85 an hour for an arborist and $65 hr. for arb. assistant/ groundsperson. Bucket goes for $115 hr + $85hr. for the operater. These are our general rates, not to say that in slower times of the year they don't vary. And yes they go up in emergency situations. As well higher fees can and will be incurred if need for the log truck, and or technical rigging.

What's it like in your neck of the woods?

the same a lttle more on the smaller jobs to cover travel, big timber thou depends how much work i have on, not much around the same as above.if i dont really need the hassle of moving big timber double it plus excavator in qoute

We also charge a one way drive time to the job. And sales commisions are not paid on any sales where the man hour rates equal to less than 50 an hour.

Theory and reality seldom associate with one another for me.In theory $75 per hour for myself and equipment-if I add a helper then an additional $45 per hour. I'm an optimistic bidder and or sympathetic( like following our recent storm) My real rates seem to be more around $60-65 per hour for myself and $35-40 for the helper when he is there. Those are on the Job figures-no travel or bid time included.
