I wasn't sure which forum to put this in, I guess this is good as any.

I want to get some chainsaw chaps but don't know what kind I should get. I'd like them to be some pretty darn good ones, since I'm mainly a happy homeowner / 5 cord woodburner type of guy and don't use a saw every day, but I also don't want to spend a fortune if I don't have to, for that same reason.

I do almost no climbing, very little felling, mostly working around hurricane-downed or bulldozer-pushed trees in the woods and brush, a lot of bucking stuff up.

So: Can anyone recommend any brands / models of chainsaw chaps for me, or at least tell me what features would be wise for me to have?

Thanks in advance for any pointers.

If you buy on line, remember that chaps are sized in overall length not inseam. Measure from top of your belt to your ankle bone. I'm tall and the 40" I tried on at a local dealer came above my boots. I looked around and bought a pair from Labonville. They offered a 44" and a 48", both in regular and full calf wrap. As with everything else, you get what you pay for. The cheap ones have thinner outer materials and less Kevlar.
