I agree with you Magnum,

I tie mine with a distel and use a biner with a micro mouse pulley . The set up tends slack one handed really well.
I'll never go back to split tails and a blakes hitch.

The only thing I might change is buy one of the hitch climber pulleys.

I just ordered a 10 foot 5/8" Maxi Flip with a Petzl Marcrograb. That should do. I also ordered my first Silky Sugoi, I am pumped. Thirdly, I ordered a micropully and stuff to use split tail method. I am movin up. Thanks for the help again guys.

Forget any kind of ascender for adjustment. Had a gibbs get me stuck in a bad situation once that i ended up having to cut my flipline to get out. I'll always use a friction hitch on my fliplines. Been using a martin on 8mm beeline with a micropully on a mighty mouse biner. The setup is amazingly compact, one handed adjustment friendly (i'll tie mine as compact as possible so there is little or no space between the pulley and hitch), and doesn't have the one fault alot of ascenders have.

You must have been really bound up. Is that because you can't adjust them under load and you couldn't get the load off to adjust or unclip? I don't know never used one yet. I wish I would have known a little earlier I think those things are like $60. If I don't use it there maybe I can find another use for it, like a paperweight or something. lol

That is a good idea, having little experience with steel fliplines I never thought of the rescue senerio. It takes a few minutes to cut cable with scissors. Most have bolt cutters on the truck but still, when seconds count...
What saw did you have your mishap with?

I was using an 020t at the time...it was running down, skidded down the trunk as I let go with one hand to grab, and cut two or three strands of my lanyard...not nice at all. I went and borrowed a wircore from a friend to finish the job the next day, then bought my own...it was on the list, just hadn't got it yet!

Someone else described the icetail cord...
