I knew going into this that the Poulan was bigger and faster and newer. I was just trying to show what it looks like when somebody goes and shows up their retired gimped up neighbor, who owns an acre, who happens to have a Wildthing and they have a 361 Stihl. Then they come here and brag about it. Well ya, whats your point. Now that I think of it I have an almost retired gimped up neighbor that has trouble emtying a pencil sharpener who is still running a 361 Poulan (eek), last year made 1973. Durable,...... not user friendly.

:sucks: Dude, are you kiddin'??? That old 041 has probaly cut more wood than that Poop-lan ever dreamed about!!! Put it up against a higher revvin' model Stihl. Whatever.......... Green saws suck.

It be a yellow one. And I like my Farmboss too, because it is a good saw not because it is a Stihl. I know a guy here who has an 064, pretty close size wise to the 505, we'll try that next. Get ready with your excuses should I happen to beat the 064. Same guy has an 066 too, we'll see.

My dad bought an 041AV in the mid seventies when I was a teenager. I ran that saw through many cord of hardwood and it was a good machine for it`s day but it was no performance icon, and let`s not forget how bad those things vibrate. About 1980 I bought an Echo CS750EVL and never picked up that poor old 041 again until I packed in a box for it`s new owner.

Stihl has made many more impressive models than this one. I don`t think that it`s any small coincidence that the 041 was the original Farm Boss and now the MS290 is the Farm Boss. WOOHOO!

I'm the guy with the 064 and I think the 505 Poulan will stay right with it. Maybe within the next week we'll see. I'm running a 24" bar on the stihl 064 with .404 full comp semi chisel, and Marco is running 3/8" I think with the poulan 505, with a 7 tooth. I have a 8 tooth on the 064 with 2 extra 1/2' HOLES drilled in the front of the muffler of the stihl. Should be interesting to find out. But I think it will be VERY close. We'll keep you posted
