Its good to have options!!! Good point regarding the length of a hitch on a flipline with small trees. All the more reason to LEARN different hitches for the right application in this biz.
Only in very rare circumstances that occur so infrequently that I can't even think of any right now do I change friction hitched during a climb. I might try a different hitch from one tree to the next, but once in the tree, I will use the same 'til I come back down.
It'd be slow to be swapping out hitches on occasion while in the tree.
...climb line...flipline, 2nd climb line in a redirect, machanical device??? You just use the same hitch, interesting. I'm at the point where I'd like to know what others use (while working in trees), to see if I would like to use that same method. Thanks for the input. HC
