I understand some of you guys may work in offices but for most of N.America, you are 5 hours behind us, so when i logged on around 6.30 i saw a lot of guys on here and the chain saw forum, Is it raining?

I work in an office during the week. I check arbosite kind of a lot for new posts through out the day. I'd rather be outside, but on the bright side atleast I have plenty of time to learn from everyone here! ! !:D

Work is slow in a lot of areas here. I worked today and will work tomorrow, but didn't climb the first 3 days of this week. I started about 8:30AM and got home about 3:45PM Eastern time.
Many up north have too much snow or it's too cold to work. I saw many guys online during the day earlier in the week.

C-O-L-D

Today the temperature hovered around zero degrees not including the wind. The boss-man doesn't want to work today! Hopefully it'll "warm-up" to at least 10 degrees next week so we can get some work done.

I'm going camping this weekend!!!

love

Some of us are pretty independent. When we work, we vanish from society - 12-14 hr days. When it is down time, it is down time. Sometimes I work 4 guys 7 days a week. Other times it is myself for 2 days a week. Pretty much living to strike while the iron is hot.

In all honesty though, I have thought the same thing at times.

I heard that in places up north, they are hoping it will warm UP to minus 5 celcius.

I am knocking off and headed to Colorado to snowboard a bit this weekend.

Brian, I was watching the weather channel tonight, supposedly its going to get down into the mid 20's by you guys tonight? I was listening to the radio the other day... apparently this month has been the coldest month in the past 3 years. Been in the teens all this week, and the week prior to that... Some times it even gets into the single digits. I would much rather sit inside and be on the computer than be outside freezing my fingers and ears off.

I couldn't imagine climbing or doing any kind of work in that! It's been highs in the 20's this week except for monday got up to45 and we worked then.
Won't work until it gets above freezing at least, don't have alot to do anyway why do it when it cold out?:D

Tonight it is supposed to get down to about -25 F with the wind chill. One of my friends just called me. His pipes are frozen, and he wanted me to go over there and torch the pipes from under the house. I said "no way am I going out tonight." :p

Too cold for my whimpy self. Too much time in NC this winter I guess.

Been getting to the guym more then usual though.

Normaly i will work 4-5 days a week depending on the workload. Sometimes it is a pounding 6 hours and I'll take the next day off others a casual 10 hours. I dont like to mix those higures up and get a pounding 10 in too often anymore.

It it a rare week these days that i screw myself with a 50 hour week. Money looks nice, but it take 3 days to recover.

No work at all but I have two hockey games sched for tomorrow. My soon to be new boss hoped to get things rolling in March, though in the interim he has a ploughing biz and I might end up helping him with that.

About 19 degrees here today, but got a damaged 22" DBH sugar maple down today. Got a good size oak to do tomorrow or the next, whenever I feel like gettin my fingers cold again :D

One of my friends just called me. His pipes are frozen,

Hey Matt,

Tell him to get the underwear burning under the pipes.:p

Same as everyone else Jock, if it isn't seasonally slow for the tree guys, it is COLD and windy, not weather for recreational logging. They say it might approach freezing by february 1st though!

"think i'll kill some wood ducks in the morning"

Couple towns over from me had the volunteer fire dept out today to free a duck that got frozen in the ice overnight.

Mike, I went over there today... his pipes were still frozen... no water to the house. Somebody had to come over and torch them all.. No insulation on the pipes, or under the house. FINALLY the wood burning stove got fixed today. All it needed was a $10 piece from Home Depot, where my friend works every day oddly enough
