I want to look at a norwood mark 2 that is for sale. It has supposedly only sawn 4000 to 5000 feet. The guy told me to make him an offer. Any help is appreciated Thanks

Like everything else its all dependant upon the condition of it.

What motor is on it, and how many hp?

I am using Cdn dollars so bear with me, with its age, and if it is a basic mill with no add on's or attachments $1-1.5K, in realistic money in near new condition, as new updated models can be had for $4k.

Four to five thousand board feet is nothing its, more about the care and storage the mill had and the owners work habits.

The value of the dollar has changed a lot in the past 10+ years, that is also a consideration.

I wouldn't pay much, they were reliable, but there's a LOT of updates as they went to mark 3 then 4, and the LM2000 is HUGELY better yet!

Can you start up the mill and cut lumber with it "as is", or does it need work? If the owner can show you that it works (actually cutting lumber), and if it has been kept in a shed, I'd offer $800, and be willing to go as high as $1500 if it is in good running condition. Make sure it will do what you need it to.
