It is about 17F currently in Central Ohio. The low for this coming weekend is suppose to be 7F.
I have been burning alot of red oak, maple, black locust, hickory, and poplar. The house stays pretty warm ( 73F - 76F ) as long as the fire is going good. We heat a three year old 1400sq ft modular ranch with a Vermont Castings Dutchwest with a catalytic converter. I only burn about 1 - 1.5 cords a year.
The pic is the wood pile in the garage. I burn most of that by the end of January and then bring the wood cart into the garage and refill it for the rest of the year.
