I'm with Clearance. On any tree that I think might be a danger, I have never had a problem....might scare the heck out of me...but caution taken due to fear is still caution taken. The trees that have done the most harm to me, (fortunately not much harm yet)...are the ones I did not respect. As quoted by Clearance...the "no big deals". As for species I do not like, the poplars. Cottonwoods, Lombard, Quaking, and Big tooth aspen. Basswoods rate right up there also when they are dead, they loose so much strength to dry rot. I've knocked huge sections of tree out of my way with little effort. Having to climb past a dead area of the tree bothers me alot. In the winter the dead branches on a basswood are harder to spot also.
