What kind of climbing gear is this???

Can anyone tell me what the name of this type of tree climbing system is and who makes it?

It looks like 2 separate bent aluminum pipes with spikes on them that you attach to your feet that you can use to step your way up the tree. I saw it while watching "Trollhunter" on Netflix. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

The Japanese use a system like this, like he said, works fine until you get to a branch, only way past the branch is to flush cut, so............. palm trees anyone!
