Looks like poplar to me.I was offered a lot of free firewood recently. I went out to the wood lot and grabbed a couple trailer loads of ash and maple, but I was wondering what kind of wood these are. View attachment 578067 View attachment 578068
Choke or pin cherry.Cherry? Cherry I've dealt with is redish and the bark almost peels off like birch. Actually just made lumber last week out of a few pieces a guy hauled up from Oregon.
The pics are too small and blurry to really tell. Also location would be helpful.
If it's east coast, I'd might think it's beech.
Choke or pin cherry.

I'm familar with trees I deal with. Choke cherry I've never see grow very big. Maybe 6-8" dbh, 30ft tall. Never heard of pin cherry.
