And what's with the white walls P 110 ? Looks like you might be missing a curb feeler on that side.

Yo Slayer, I got your message yesterday, I 'm just to busy and tired to give ya a ring and run my mouth at ya or have you run yours at me but let me know what's up or if ya need something. Good to be back? No pics of the trip?

nothing much, bro, I was just enjoying a rainy day with matt yesterday.

didn't take a camera down south. my phone is jingling every day here, and I'm hitting all the bids. ####, now I gotta work......;)

Yeah, i'm gearing up to go out at 10 to try and get more done than I should, than I can. I guess I shouldn't use the word try, do is more like it.

What makes P110 mad? I would say its the same thing that makes me mad; Himself. Well, I didn't mean he can make me mad, I make myself mad, he makes himself mad... and we all are mad together!

I am learning that I must take time away from expressing myself through the aggressive channels of tree work and express myself with more calm and spiritual ways. Ya know, work on my Ying Yang more.

With P110, its probably his Ding Dong that needs worked on. I hope the guy has better sense than to try to take a log to bed with him and I hope he at least keeps his place clean enough for women.

Just for jokes I was going to change my screen name to Treemaddan. Its fits perfectly with the whole thing and my name isn't even Dan.:confused2:

Ok, I am suitin up and headed off to do more philosisophiyingng while I storm a beach... well really its a cherry.

Didn't have a camera? Sounds weak.

Dude, I flew over 3000 miles last month, and pay more for gear and clothing than my tickets. My $1500 Nikon D70 was not a high priority.

Besides, posting pics on here has become rather tedious, and I don't get paid for it.:D

Take care of that knee, want me to come and climb for ya? cept I hate chasing vines......:msp_wink:

Come on Dan, play nice. When that tire was new, it was a blue wall. You no likey? No need for a feeler dude, I dont hit curbs. And if I catch that weasly little cohort taking my toys out with out asking again, Im gonna , .... last time he "borrowed" it , he left the key on and killed the batt. Didnt know untill I took it to a job with out jumper cables. Thanx for the embarassment Dave.

I wish you were closer with that grinder matt. Almost every job I have has stump grinding in the bid all the sudden. Was trying to set up a job for tomorrow, but both my stump guys are unavailabe (which is kinda rare). Looks like I'm gonna be off till next wednesday now cuz of this crap (memorial day) and scheduling headaches. My poor liver. Dying to kill something (I mean practice some arboriculture :hmm3grin2orange:)!!

I'm hoping to be able to fit a couple yards of topsoil in the 3' exposed opening on top of the new chip box. Looks like it should just work to me. It'll save me alot of headaches over the years if it does work out.

I am sure you know why the top is 3 feet short but you still have to make sure the loader bucket will fit through the back. Sometimes the yard where I was picking up the soil had a big tractor whose loader bucket was to big. I learned to call ahead and make them measure it.

Just chock the wheels, a full size bobcat should be able to push at least 3 yards in.

The two reasonable places I go for topsoil only have huge loaders. It's gonna have to go over the top and spill out the sides, or whatever (get dirty, lol).

Should be nice though if it works. I'll just chip this whole job, drop the chipper and still have plenty of room left to stuff some grindings in with the Deere. Dump everything, and get topsoil at same yard. That's why I need the open back (pretty much the main reason I went with that style body).

@MDS, you got that sexy new chip truck, and that tits Bandit, but no grinder? Oh wait, CT is SUPER UBER rockville... I was on ebay back in early April and almost bought another 665, but it was a B, with the diesel. and 12 years newer, went for more than I wanted to drive to Penn. for. Keep an eye on the right web sites, there are deals out there, hella deals.

The need for a grinder hasn't really been that bad yet. I just pay someone else to beat on theirs (which normally works out). Besides, stump grinding has gotta be one of least appealing aspects of tree work imo. Also, if I ever do get one, I would want a big one that's self propelled.... so the price been the hold up there (lol). Doesn't seem like I'd ever get my money back out of it.

I do like this bad dog here though!

@ MDS. Im more of a equipment operator in a specailzed field than any thing else. I love the toys we use in our line of work, especialy stumpers. But I was brainwashed at an early age. In retrospect , I think my dad was nuts. He let me stand as close as 15 or so feet away from that 665a in the pic, as soon as I could walk, and watch it go to town. If you saw that thing tear up a few thousand stumps that young, youd be a lil obsessed with grinding to. As far as the tracked SC60 goes...... What a headache. When those things work and run right, they are the proverbial BEES KNEES. But, I have much experience with them. They eat like a mother, but,,, the brain box is a disaster, the traxs stick and wont go in and out, especaily when you need to get thru a gate, the controls suck(whats up with soeliniod over hydraulic? whats wrong with a live valve bank?) Vermeer is a bad move. They were the grinder king, BACK IN THE DAY, but , well, thats enuff ranting, lets leave it at this, I havent given up on a 1983 665a for a reason. Its embarasing to drive down the road with it, cuz its an ugly dinosaur, but its an overgrown lawn mower. Anyone can fix it, it never or hardly breaks, and the dam thing has made me a helluva lot of $, and it aint dead yet. Can I get a AMEN!??! Oh yeah, paid $3K for that thing, in 03'. I think its worth it. What I really want is the Top Notch 38 Special for the mini. One truck, 3 machines.... Save a ton on time, drivers and fuel. I'll be the small to medium removal king when that setup is built.

Interesting thoughts on the SC60 prentice.... my guy seems to love his though. Huh.

I was just imagining the track grinder going up my trailer ramps, then onto some other ramps and into the back of the big chip truck. Then put the tractor on the trailer for cleanup.... seems like it would be pretty slick.

I'm not even considering buying anything else for a long time though.... well, at least not until September 2012, when the bucket is payed off, anyway.

I hear ya with the ramp to ramp idea. I inherited a Ford L8000 tandem axle dump, with special triangle steel made for the gate to lay down. Been thinkin bout buildin a ramp for the mini trailer to get the wood into it. What good is a clam truck these days? Cant sell or run mulch and gravel when slow with a clam. I know alot of small land scapers that can keep that truck busy when Im not killin big boys. I really suck at gettin my point accross thru typin. The SC60 eats like a champ, gotta love it for that, but , cant turn that thing for beans without plywood, even when arcing your turns, and the low crossmember makes cleanup a bi###. nothing I hate more than raking 10 feet that I feel shouldntve gotten dirty. Sept 2012 gonna be a happy day 4 ya! Paid lil Bobby off in November. First winter I didnt have to sweat 4 3 years. You always sweat, TILL ITS PAID FOR!!!! then its OH BABY!!!!
