Hey, sorry about the new 'compact saw' but what the he** is all that white stuff all over the ground out there. :p

Why didn't you unbolt the power head and remove the saw before you cut 'er loose??eh? We get old we forget to carry a scrench in our pocket? Operator Error, take scrench from back pocket and remove powerhead first while 7900 warms up for cut.

George,

I'm betting he had the clutch cover right at ground zero on that one.

He did say it rolled but we didn't see the stump shot. Glens, you may be right, As Close As Possible for the money. I stiil got a laugh, he's done saw compression field tests before.

Compacted saw:

Well, to me it's what is called the tree's revenge. Sorry to see things like that happen. Hope you can save the saw. Take care. Lewis.

One of my guys smashed my 066 and it kept running. In fact, it kept running at full throttle........with the chain pinched and unable to move........with the log on top of the saw......preventing me from reaching the kill switch. I had to grab a pry bar to move the log enough to pull off the spark plug boot. This took about 60 seconds. The clutch got so hot it melted the plastic cage on the clutch drum bearing, and the crank case seal. Had to replace a lot of stuff. Fortunately I was able to find a parts 066 for the tank and air cleaner assembly. I still had to spend around $150 to fix it.
I know accidents happen but this one was avoidable.

Yikes!!
That sounds like it could be one of those commercials with that "go ahead and knock the battery off guy" Bob Conrad?? :)

This happened 4 days after they broke the handle and tank on my 044 in another avoidable accident. I changed the rules after the 066 incident. If you break it due to negligence, abuse, anger, stupidity, etc. then you pay for the repair or find another job. Amazingly, the mishaps have all but disappeared. Although, they still leave stuff on the jobsite. I make sure I do a full walk around and count saws, ropes, saddles, etc. before I leave when I'm there.

John it's all boxed and will be out in morning no bar or chain for you this time. It won't be anything near what your 362 was. I think I am getting sick of all your crash and burns. Hell maybe by the end of the year you might have the 346EHP NOPE. Well you can always fall back on the 999 now that it's back up and running like it should have been in the first place.

Yes but most people missed the point, he said he was watching the tree not the saw , reason, tree is worth more than the 362 and the 7900 put together, you did it correct Gypo, I would of been watching the tree also,

Jerod wants to know what you got plus the 999 and the 7900 to trade for his 357 and a 100 feet of skip tooth chain.'

Marky the man just had a heart attack , the 999 would kill most men if you got to carry it

if its the 62 in your vids that was/is/maybe still a good saw,oh well at least the trees down, tell em its a special log and requires x tra $$$$ LOL.my freind was showing a young guy falling out bush to drop on steep slope not a good place to start goodbye 66 ha

heck that thing still got some paint onit..looks real close to what most o mine look like.. i like that seasoned look.. i know its not something u would pt with, but if u decide to .. let me know..i got near 22 dollars put up..

Well I exhumed the 362 today. It looks like the jug is still serviceable even though a cooling fin or two are broken. I have a new 362XPG so I will just swap jugs and pistons.
John

I'd say its a little dirty. but if you've got a spare 362 around, then you're in business. Not too bad for a saw hit by a tree, considering the fact that the ground was soft, not solid rock where the tree hit it. had it been solid as rock, I think it would have been alot worse than the damage actually is.

Good point saw addict. It was also good that the ground wasn't frozen.
Anyway, here's a movie of me cutting with no clothes on in the snow.
John

saw

That's minor.
Now, lose the saw off the skidder in the mud, don't find it until a week later when it catches on the skidder chain about the sixth time you ran over it. That's damage!

I wanted to hang that 372 in the shop for a conversation piece, but the boss's son threw it out. It was a ball of saw parts, NOT JUNK!
