I was wondering if anyone knows anything about this old Solo. I emailed Solo but they never answered. I got it from my uncle about 15 years ago, and it was no where near new then.
the plate reads:
Typ 60135
No 78008

It looks like its a rather large saw, but other than that I have no clue. maybe Mange, or perhaps Motorsag will know what model it is.

It made the 2100 Husky I used to have seem pretty light. When I felt the strain from the Husky, I'd pick up the Solo and be thankfull for my "light weight" 2100.

I dont know anytihing about solos, but it sure looks like a nice saw. Parts may be an issue however. Does anyone else think it resembles an 090?

I may need to put a kit in the carb so I may find that parts are a problem. (That may be why Solo didn't answer my email) Thankfully it still runs pretty strong. I did notice that nothing in my arsonal will work to replace the bar, that could be a problem.

Here is a solo I got at a auction years back. Mange and I have been trying to figure it out too due to the model number not matching anything on mike's site. Some info on the forum on mike's site that was posted. The blue cover is plastic on mine.

Ok guys, now how do you get pics to post with this new type of system. Been some time since I posted pics here.

It's a simple thing to retrofit about any bar[with in reason]to about any saw.Got Dremel? :)

Thanks guys,
I'm glad to have Mike's sight available. What a valuable tool.
I've ground out bars before (just didn't dawn on me yet this time).

By the way Madsaw, Cool saw! :blob2:

Yes ray its close to that. The one on Mike's has a nut holding the cover on mine snap locks on the top by the plug with a hinge on the bottom. Here is another post on this saw on another forum. http://www.samlaren.org/samlarforum/viewtopic.php?t=451&highlight=solo
I got a few old oddballs around here. Hopefully soon I will have my list done. Then I can show everyone the goodies I have found around here.

Oh ya. Just a side note here. If you all are wondering the avatar is of a white parks. I do have a white parks jersey cross cow,and 2 heifers from her. Just wanted to shed some light on the maddness behind the name. Been milking cows since I was 16. Maybe will change the avatar someday to a saw. Who knows !

Solo made a few different engine sizes in this model range but after all this time i cannot recall the colour scheme to engine size there where 3 different colour combinations blue / yellow, red / white, black / yellow, and where between 80 to 100 odd cc.
