I use the "caddy pads" (cast aluminum). Considering switching to the steel cushion pad wraps. Any thoughts? They are more expensive and you do "get what you pay for" so...but the cast pads are fantastic compared to the garbage I used prior to owning them.

Are you talking about the velcro wraps with the steel insert? If so, save your money. They're great for a couple thousand feet, then the steel insert starts to tweak and they become extremely painful to climb on. That's what I've been using the past year and I just keep going back to lineman's and getting new inserts for them. I'm in the market for some different spikes and was thinkin' bout the aluminum caddies. Why don't you like those?

the cast aluminum ones are nice, i have them.only problem i have had is that the neoprene eventually starts tearing off around the corners and the metal digs into your leg when you're in certain positions. overall i give them a 9/10

I have the super wraps, but no where near a thousand feet on them. Like them a lot, so far.

the big euc pads look comfy. i am on the superwraps and like them but i have noticed they are starting to spin abit when you cinch them up. hence me looking at those big euc pads.

i returned those komet spikes from last year but havent gotten the replacements yet (still waiting shelter tree!!!!!) so i am definitely in the market. apparently they had to send them back to france or some **** but i dropped them off in february. is it about time i raise a little stink and just get some store credit or what?

I started on an old set of lineman spikes with warn L pads "ugggggg" Since that Ive been climbing on the regular old triple thick T pads, they've always been pretty comfy to me I guess I should try out the Cast pads one day.

i have the aluminum ones, my girlfriend uses always with wings...

I am using the velcro wraps Not sure if they are super wraps or not. They have been comfy but it's funny I noticed a little discomfort in the left one on my last removal. Hope I'm not going to have to replace them. My equipment has been taking a real beating this year. I've also got L pads on my old buckingham spikes but I barely use them anymore.

The cast aluminum are great. I was just wondering if anything out there was better. When you wear the pad out you can replace it. Wesspur offers the replacements. No shin pain and I wear 10" boots. Don't care for the 16" boots when I tend to spend a lot more time on the gound then in the trees. Climbing is half the battle for me.
