What was the first clamshell chainsaw?

I’ve got more vertically split case saws than clamshells, but a good clamshell gives just as long a service life s my “pro” saws. Echo cs400 comes to mind. They get used and abused because of how cheap and light they are, and run forever. But I can see how a plastic chassis with a clamshell engine insert would not be as suitable for a bigger, more powerful saw.
