As the title implies, what was your very first saw?
I started out with a Mac 610 pm. A good family friend gave it to me when I was 14 for free. Told me he didn't know if it ran or not but it was mine if I would use it/ get it running. I RAN out to his truck, dumped out the old mix, poured in new and it was off and running. That was the best saw I think I ever owned despite the weight and the never ended thirst for mix. I still thank him to this day for getting me started on saws and firewood cutting, that was the best thing he could have ever done for me. That was the only saw I had for about eight years and cut about 12 cord a year with it without fail. I wish I would have found this site three years ago before I got rid of it thinking I could never get parts from a defunct company. I'm still kicking myself over that.

My grandpa was a small engine mechanic and he gave me a huge old homelite when i was about 11-12 years old. i was so young i dont remember what it was. Needless to say it was to heavy for me. he then built me a a homelite super xl from scrap that still runs to this day. I put it up in the shed and dont use it anymore, i will keep it for the memories.

An MS180C I bought last summer to finish removing what the bonehead utility company left behind.

They fell a Bradford Pear of mine yet didn't grind the stump down

Then they topped my Ash. Poor thing looks like a grenade went off on top of it.

Anyway, I purchased the 180 to buck what was left for firewood. I have been addicted to chainsaws ever since.

The first saw I used was the Jonsereds Raket 621 that my father in law eventually gave me.
The first saw I owned was a POS Partner 351, same saw as Poulan 2150, I think.

Homelite Zip, new in 1960. It was dad's saw & I used it as a teenager. It died & he bought a Mac 655, gave the Zip to me & I resurrected it. I gave it to a forum member here. When his Mac died he bought a 55 Rancher & gave me the Mac. I fixed it & still use it.

Dad was a Remington dealer. My first saw was a SL-11 that someone left for repair and never picked up. Also there was a SL-9 in there for a while. I was pretty knowlegable on the Remingtons. I hated all of the Mighty mites and their variants. Liked the 754's

I did the saw repairing and one day someone brought in this funny German saw named Stihl. I was so impressed that I knew that someday I'd have one. Now I do!

610 Timberbear

My first saw was the same 610 Mac. Still in my dads shop, and it still runs good. Actually it was never mine, I just borrowed it for so long it seemed like mine, but I did give it back.:greenchainsaw:

A medium sized Mac and a very small(10" bar?) Poulan that would only run with the air cleaner off. Could't tell you the mod #'s and they were Dad's but they lived in the tack room, so i used them all the time. My first saw that i bought was a Mac electric that i used to build a 1624 Sq ft log home in TX. I had to square every log and made thousands of cuts with that saw, and it never quit. The first gas saw is the 024 AV Super that i got new in '83. Thanks to this site i didn't get rid of it, but got it running like new. After the 024, i can't even tell you what happened to the electric mac  !

My first personal saw was the Super XL I still own, $20 at a garage sale. The first saw I ever used was a Homie 150A. Yes, I still have both saws, they are the ones in my tag line.

Mine was the Mac 130 my dad left me when he died.

then there comes a bunch of other saws, a poulan wild thing, Echo CS3000, 038MAGII, etc, long list of saws past.

1975, a heavy orange "Western Auto" version of an XL12. Cut umpteem cords of firewood with it for years. Wish I still had it, as now I would try and rebuild it.

my first saw was a mc super 44... i got it at the local thrift store for $7 and after a little effort i got it too run... i still have it but the fuel pump part of the carb is bad so it just sits and waits for me to find the kit to fix it...

stihl 024 wood boss

The old wood boss. Still runs. I use it but it was diagnosed with an air leak. It runs for about 15 seconds then cuts out but it comes back for another 15 seconds. I use it when my husky 359 isn't around.

My first saw was the Roper-Crapsman 3.7 listed in my sig. I got it for free because it cut crooked. New B&C fixed that. I still have that saw and a donor unit to go with it.
