Oops where did that extra s come from. So I'm not a good proof reader. Oh well.

Here's my new winter project. Scored it on ebay for 50 bucks + shipping today. I've been waiting for one of these guys to follow me home. The first little milling saw that I ever had was a husky 61. Not much for milling, but was still a powerful little saw. I'm sure these guy have a much more powerful punch though. Heres a couple of pictures

The guy that I bought it from said that the bearings seemed tight and smooth and that ther were some scratches on the piston but the cylinder looked good. I keep hearing that these make good milling saws so I guess I will have to put it on my 36" mill after I get it running.

On another note, I'm supposed to go pick up a bunch of saws from a retired logger here in a couple of days as well. He thinks that he has one of the 136cc model Stihl Contra Lightning's. Boy do I hope it is one of the big ones. He also has a couple of old Jonsereds 920 and "8 something or nother" as he put it. As I talked to him further he told me of an eighty year old friend down the road that has a whole shed full of early model old Homies. Christmas may be good to me this year. So what am I going to do with all of these things. Restore some, sell some, trade some, cut some fire wood, mill some lumber, and take lots of pictures to share with you all.

When I get them home I'll post up a list for all to see.

Whats your winter projects?

Oh crap! Im sposed to save them for the winter? Here Ive been doing them year round!

Well, I have a couple of 925's that need rebuilt, ones together and needs? the other is in a box and needs?

Ill probably strip and paint them and put all new everything in them, I only need some simple parts at this point. (crank seals and gaskets)

And I also have a low hour PP655 that I have to graft a new case half on to and add some new anti vibe mounts too.

Right now Im in the middle of replacing the carb boot in the 550 and building a SXL for my nephew and one for my neighbor.

Saw wise that should keep me buisy for a while.

Spiffing up the 066. Not that I wanted to, but, stuff happens on an old and well used/abused saw.

have to replace the brake handle again since the muffler deflector blew off and burned it 1/2 way through. Replaced the deflector with some homebrew engineering, and reinforced the brake handle for now, but it will have to be replaced. Going to see if the newer shroud will fit so I can add a decomp valve.

Then, have a new carb to retro-fit to the Wards/Mono. Have to rework the linkages, but shouldn't be a big deal. Working on the concept.

I've got four non-running Stihl 025's, I'm going to try and build one good one and sell the rest of the parts. I just got them last weekend and have'nt had a chance to check them out yet. I also picked up an old Remington Super 754 so I might see if I can get it going.......... and, I know an old guy that loves to fix up old weedeaters and I've been giving him all the old weedeaters I can find and he's been trading me for old saws that he finds. We've gotten to be pretty good friends and he said he has an old 2-man Mall that runs that they used to cut railroad ties with years ago and a few old Wizards at his moms house that he's going to give me for free! I'm supposed to get them after the first of the year when he goes back to see her. Can't wait to get that old Mall ! ! ! Matt in KY

p.s. my buddy has an old Husky 61 that was taken apart and thrown in a bucket that someone gave him. we just got it all together and running and it's a fantastic saw! runs great and was very easy to work on. good luck with yours!

I know what you mean, but for some reason I always seem to find a lot more saw around here(SE KS) during the winter months.

So far a Pioneer/Partner 5000 plus, Stihl 011AV, Poulan/Craftsman 40cc basketcase.

Mag58,

You would like a US band called Dream Theater. The link to the video you posted reminds me a LOT of them...the singer for Dream Theater is better though. I had to call my wife up to look at your saw parts in the dishwasher...she would kill me :) Although I do bake my painted parts in her oven to cure the finish, the greasy stuff has to stay outside.

Pile of Mac 200s, 1-42s, and a Model 99.

Hopefully a couple of Stihls, Dolmars and Huskys.:)

Maybe a couple of Partners, got to find pistons.:chainsaw:

The normal assortment of Echos, Homelites and such.:)

Main winter project is to clean up shop area and backyard. I seem to always be cleaning.:dizzy:

Scag 48" WB, almost done, then it goes away.

To find a job as I am cuuently un-employed. Almost forgot that but the wife might read this so I will put it on.:monkey:

 I like Dream Theater, and they are good yes, but Scandinavian Power Metal are good too, Norway, Sweden, and Finland have good Metal Bands. :rockn:

Here is one from Finland

And the saw parts are pretty clean before they go in the dishwasher, the dishwasher is just for cleaning them real good :D

Saws in the dishwasher, WITH some dishes! You must live alone.

Nice guitar collection in the background. What do you got there? Do I see a PRS on the left?

McCulloch 35: I just got the fresh pump diaphragm installed last night and got it to fire and run. Still has a mystery fuel leak and a cracked handle. Looks like I may have to transfer all the innards into the to-be repainted shell of the "hosed" parts saw. I may have the mystery leak figured, more on that later.

John Deere 91 - recent acquisition, I hope it's a quickie rehab.

Remington Super 754 - was running recently, now runs only for short bursts. Go though fuel system again.

Remington Bantam - IF parts materialize, but I'm not real optimistic.

Don't know if I'll EVER get started on that other Poulan. 42 cc something or other. Not a wild thing, but close. 2500, 2900 or something - I forgot.
