well the 346 great ESPN hotsaw race is on so what class are we going to have next , the 357, 361 class , 372 , 044, 7300 class or what

ok but what i mean is what cc class of saw
044 and the 372 and the 7300 should be able to run against each other because they are very close to the same engine size
i know the 357 is less cc than the 036 but the 357 never backed down fron a street fight , so that could be a class, and so on

Since the world normally revolves around me, I`m surprised that you guys were able to pick another date(2/15) that I can`t make, LOL. Are these get togethers going to be a regular occurence? Are you guys supplying chains? I only run barbed wire, which I`m told can no longer be imported to Canada.

Ed, I`ve got a brand new 460 Mag, can you make it cut like Gypo`s 346? If so, I`ll run it in the 3 cube class. :D

Russ

Hi Russ, I can't speak for Ed, but I know he likes the 046 and 066. It is an open invitation here on the 15th. As long as we have saws we have a place to cut here.
In spite of my rapsodic vocalizations, I am only the sum of the people I have met here with regards to chainsaws and personal interactions. I have only won one race in my life.
It doesn't hurt that much when we lose, cause the times are really close, so make it up here when you can Russ.

Hey John,

It always hurts to lose, at least a little bit if you have any spirit at all, but that hurt also builds the fire that can make a man with the right attitude a winner. Everybody loses once in a while, but it`s far less painful when the competition is tough. I`m looking forward to hooking up with you guys and might even be hosting a get together of my own. BTW, my house needs a few finishing touches so bring your hammer and nailbag, I`ll supply all consumables. :D

Russ

Russ, sounds like fun. Maybe we can show those "Crazy Canadians" a thing or two!!! Let me know when and where.... I'm not much of a chainsaw racer, but I can pound nails and drink beer with the best of them!!! :D

Jeff

Hey Jeff,

Glad to see you back, you`d definitely be getting an invitation, although everyone will be welcome. Maybe we could get some of that Canadian Labbatt Ice and drink until blindness sets in, LOL.

What always makes me chuckle is when I see Canadians in our restaurants asking for Genesee beer when they have some of the finest blue collar domestic beers available at home. You can`t make me drink a Genny, which comes in a 30 pack I believe, so that you can conveniently buy enough to get a buzz, LOL.

Maybe instead of banging nails I should concentrate on establishing the 16" cookie rule that Maas pioneered. :D

BTW, I`d bet that anybody from Tupper and a guy from Camden, where the snow is deep, beer and women are cheap, and livestock is STILL afraid, could show the Canadians a thing or two.

Russ

The 372 racewould be fine but i think we should as so put the 044/440 in there as well and the dolmar 7300, the 460 is more cc but i donot think that the 372 is scared at the bigger motor , now is this mod muffler which i think it should be or do you want pipe plus of gas right
the only thing, is there any ported 044/046 saws out there , i know you guys got some 372 ported , has dozer dan done any 7300 to come and play
any of you guys got any 7900's bring them up on the 15th , you can run against gypo and see who wins
any other ideas bring them on , we want to have fun so the more the marrier

Ed,
My 2 cents.... any 70-73 cc saw set up for cutting in the woods. Any Bar, gear and chain combination you want. Must have an air filter and Appear stock ( No Tune pipes). Fuel is any fuel that does not need to be flushed. (Sorry Ed but other builders would not have a chance against some of the sock wacky mixes we do.) Saw must be durable enough that you would let a fellow member run your saw.
Ready set GO!
I'll see ya on the 15th. Ohh and I'm bringing the 044CC again :)

Later,
Chris

Just wonderin'....if I were to show up at one of these get togethers with a 372 and a 346 with just the mufflers opened up and stock chain...would I kinda' be like the skinny guy on the "beech" getting sand er I mean saw dust kicked in my face?

Jeff

Hi Jeff,

It`s my impression that the point of the fest at John`s place is just to show up. If you`ve got some mind blowing saw, then all the better, but if your saws are mostly stock and you run barbed wire like I do, I would guess that you`d fit right in. This is the way I anticipate any get together that I host, turning out.

Russ

Hi Jeff, Russ is right about the get togethers. The guys that are the most accomplished seem to get the most fun out of helping those that are eager to learn and watching them cut and the smile on their faces. You are more than welcome to show and no one will kick sawdust in your face.
John

John is right ,if we can help you with something we will and it is more about meeting people than racing each other, just to have more fun and remember there are other guys running round filed chain to so you guys can run each other

so it sounds like there is going to be some saws in the 70cc range , this is good and we will be able to see the difference between the smaller 357's and the bigger 385's

At the REAL money competitions I have the feeling things can get kind of mean spirited and the sharing of info is pretty guarded. At the kind of informal fun session like went on at Gypo's there seemed like a pretty free flow of information and a very free flow of good natured BS. Looking forward to the next session!

Thanks Crofter, we look forward to your visit , i am bring extra paper this time and higher boots so i should be safe for a while,
hope to see you there and your open modified 365 and yes bring that super 026 that has the 084 crank in it , chris is ready or so he thinks he ready but we know the difference right
well i am not sure if there is going to be a next hotsaw for here, i have been shot 3 times on here and not sure how many knife wounds i got but things could change so not all hope is gone , i could live after all

I was going to get someone to stand in for me but they don't make hip boots that High for the S*&T I'm in..... I still need to make chain for the 026, 044, 3120KD and 3120. Plus fix up the 064CC chain and maybe bring a toy saw if it will ever run. So busy I am.
S
Hopefully we can meet on saturday night in a bar for some drinks.

Later,
Chris

get Ken to help you , he knows what is best for you, maybe he can make you some chains that will win the show for you
