guy selling it doesn't know where it came from, but has 181 se on the side... is it worth buying? circa $120, ( £65 )

I was wondering the # on the recoil I could not make it out earlier although I saw it was a SE model could not decide upon the cc here is a link.... a milatary model to boot.

Yep, husky 181 or 281 XP. There were quite a few sold on ebay in the UK over the last 12 months or so. I think I seem to recall asking one of the sellers who was putting out quite a few of them where they were coming from. She told me that she'd bought a job lot from an army surplus auction. They usually come in their own green box.

£65 for a good condition 181/281 is a steal. I sold my 281 XP for about £225 on ebay last year. Mind you, that was a limited edition one in ORANGE:hmm3grin2orange:

Yeah, I saw that. What I was saying was that both 181's AND 281XP's have been seen for sale in the green.

I had a 181SE for 10 years, great saw. Only problem I ever had was the muffler bolts walking out. Cut 10 cords a year with it.
