I got a 254XP that I just can't get right .I bought it used and fixed it back up.I installed a new ring,rebuilt carb and modded muffler.When I tore it down,the crank cavity had a mixture of water/oil in it .I guess it must have fell in a river.So,I cleaned up.Well when I got it back together and cranked it up.It turned some high rpms at idle.I adjusted it to about 3600 rpm,as low as I could get.I then set the high idle.This thing was turning 18K+ @ WOT.Is this right?I checked gaskets for vacuum leaks,but none there.I don't have a way to check the case.Do you think the modded muffler caused this?I didn't try running it before I modded the muffler.So,what do y'all think?
