What's your favourite smallest handy chainsaw ?

Just being curious.
We know MS170 is 30 cc, possibly the smallest handy saw.
Any one knows other models?
What cc is the best for homeowners or house keeping ?
Just name a few....

Dolmar DCS-401 is an excellent small saw but I prefer my MS180.

The Dolmar has std chain but the little Stihl comes with Picco Micro Narrow. That small chain really makes it perform.

the best ive owned was a solo . dependable and an easy crank.

I have not had time to work on it yet but will try that maybe this afternoon. It certainly sounds like it needs to be richer and if I pull the screen that might affect it even more. But it is sure a sweet little saw. I appreciate the folks that suggested that model. Lot of money but my back sure appreciates the lighter wieght for small stuff!

That is a tough question. WHen you add for the money, it gets even tougher. WHat might be a good saw for occaisional use my fail miserably under tough conditions. What are the conditions in which it would be used? I am no expert for sure, just curious as to what comes out of the question. I have already bought a saw so I know the answer for me.

I really like the MS180C. As stated above, with the skinny PMN chain it really cuts well. I've sure there are other great little saws around too.

MS200 and M260/026 are undoubtedly good saws. I'd like to get a 260 to fill in the gap between 32cc and 78cc. A 200 would also make a good replacement for the 180 when its time is up. Ah, if I could only win the lottery...


Best value for money? Whatever you can pick up at a garage sale!

Been using a Poulan 2000 since bought new in 1994 for $99. Replaced one coil module and thats it. Weighs 7.8LBS and 33cc, cant beat for homeowner duties in my book. Lets see value, $99 X 12 years = pretty good to me.

My favorite this week (changes from week to week) is a little Echo CS-351VL that I rescued form the dump. It has a Bailey's 16" Arbor Pro bar with 30LG chain. Its a little heavy but its smooth and easy, easy, easy to use. My second fave is another Echo top handle CS-341.

The little echos looked like nice saws. If one of the good dealers in town sold them, I may have gone that way.

I like my 1970's Homelite Super 2. its small, light and has some power. not a GREAT saw, but it gets the job done.

I like my Stihl 009L w/12" B&C about 10lb... I also like my Echo 346 w/12" B&C might be 1.5lbs less then my Stihl 009L with the same size B&C....
