Fell the next tree this morning. Knew it had a bit more brush the the previous ones but...

Side to side that is about 30' across. Tree is 70-80ft long.

After three hours of cut/pile brush later. Those stubs are 8" and up:

I was soaked with sweat, rung out like a wet dishrag and so pooped I could barely walk. Didn't even pick up the last of the firewood size stuff I had on the ground. At least it is now about 90% brushed and piled and ready for some serious firewood cutting. Taking tomorrow off to work the wood pile some and recuperate.

I need to recalibrate my eyeballs. I had guessed that tree as smaller than the previous two who when 36". This one went 42"

That's great work. You can pat yourself on the back.
I've also been out in the heat every day this week to finish up my piles of wood. Although you've been brushing... you'll get the length of cuts you need. I'm stuck with odd-ball sizes from the free pickin's at the curbside & it's a PITA to split and stack. I split manually & for the same amount of work I get far less wood (6-15" length stuff sometimes) -but I'm not having to cut it (sharpen chains, buy gas, bar oil).

I'm left now with only 4-5 difficult pieces & everything else is in the piles.
:chainsaw:

Looks like a good size tree. What saw are you using?

I've been doing a little tree/firewood work the last two weekends here and its been 80-90* and humid. Gets tiring fast. Just take plenty of breaks to cool down and drink a lot of water.

Now what screwy he** is photobucket doing? Replaced two of my pics with those same two I can't get rid of even though I have deleted them.

Hope other people saw the brush and tree pic vice shots of the wood pile.

Used my MS310, 25" bar, skip chain for falling, Husky 51/18" for brushing. Not too bad but I kinda butchered the cuts since I couldn't see around the tree.

Probably head out tomorrow morning if I get up early. Temps headed for 90s again tomorrow and I want to be back before noon.
