When Did Plated Bores Come Into Production???

I was looking on Mike Acres collectors site and I noticed that Homelite had a saw that had a chrome plated bore in the mid '60's. When was this process first applied to the chainsaw industry?

Rich- it was about that time, mid 60's. Both McCulloch and Homelite experimented with plated bores as early as 1962, and I believe there were motorcycle engines that had plated bores as far back as 1957.
