Hey fellas, talk is of Baraboo again, and I would really like to make it. When is it, and does anyone know if I can get a list of classes. Would like to run my grandpas old wright. Thanks alot.

The old saw display and competition is near Baraboo, Wisconsin at the Badger Steam and gas engine show August 15,16, and 17. The timed events are on Saturday, start around 11:00 AM. There are classes for antique 2-man, antique gear drive, vintage direct drive (1979 and older, no square filed chain), vintage hotsaw (typically mac 250's with McC kart engines and pipes. Everyone is invited to display and compete in the timed events. Please wear chaps. There is no charge to compete. If you bring a saw or other antique item to display, you get into the show for free. There will be plenty of wood to cut if you want to run your saws, or just display them. Display area is a shaded park like setting. The Steam and Gas club has an excellent web-site with info and maps, but no chainsaw info. http://www.badgersteamandgas.com/index.htm I'm moving Aug 1, and will have a different e-mail address after that, but until then questions can be sent to me at [email protected], or just respond to this thread.

This will be the first year for the vintage direct drive class. All competitors have been encouraged to use saws that have not been modified. Anything goes in the vintage hotsaw class, as long as it's old and is similar to what was run in the late '60, early '70's.

Scott, thank you much for the information, though I will not be able to make it. I will be honeymooning in Maine during that time. Next year maybe. Hope you guys have a good show.

Hey earache, the Baraboo / Wisconsin Dells area would be a great place to "honeymoon" Thanks for the advice Tony, already changed it.
