! good on you, as I need a higher carbon count to make better mixed iron in my forge.... more carbon makes for stronger iron for chopping wood tools. lol

You guys sure do like to make fun of Gunny. To answer his question. I do have a propane weed burner and have been known to start a fire with it when I cant find my propane lighter. I used to hunt and split lighter wood into small pieces for lighting fires. I kind of gave that all up several years ago. I have found that a bale of wood chips from TSC and a paper towel are all one needs. Throw a paper towel or newspaper down and then throw on top a handfull of the wood chips, stack splitter scraps on top and then some bigger splits, light a match to the paper, close the door and open up the draft. Rump roasting fire in just a few minutes. Just use dry wood and not green and you can have a fire roaring in just a few minutes. Maybe I should make a fire starting video to show how its done.

I used to. Now i make fire starters. Dryer lindt and candle wax melted. But iv gotten lazy and i just dont shut the wood stove down. If too hot out i just burn with the windows open. I started my stove in september and it hasnt shut off. The other day was 19c out. It did get a little warm in here.

matches have been worthless since 2002 cause they had to make them impossible to make a bomb out of or something

lighters are ok

but the bernzOmatic lights right up every time I get about 2 years on a pound green bottle , it really gets that junk mail a burning.

Noodle down some railroad ties, small enough to go through a chipper, and hack up some old tires to chip, mix up RR tie Noodles and chips, add some tire chips, then add larger hunks of Ties and Tires until the fire is going well enough to maintain full size tie pieces and large chunks of tires.

Keeps the house nice and warm, but for some reason the neighbors give me dirty looks, and on occasion throw rocks and rotten produce at me

Nope never ever stomp on buring C4. Just covered it with a little dirt or smothered it with a C Rat can.
thing was after a bit you could judge how much you needed like for starting the fire.
