Latley all I've had to read here is everything except what this section is supposed to be about. What does this say about YOU!

Jack:angry:

All depends on who YOU is?

I'd like to see more tree climbing and care as well.

I know......sometimes I'm part of the problem.......But it's Rocky's fault, he influences me.

Ban Rocky, Ban Rocky.....

Jack,
I suggest you chill with that attitude.. if you don't like the contributions of others... why not start a few good threads yourself...

Noticed you left out the "commercial" part... this is about business... not deadwooding trees at the local park for fun! Everyone here comes for his or her own reasons... not your reasons... so give us all some slack please...

Still love ya bro!

Jack, pull the stick outta your arse. It's plugging you up and cutting off your oxygen supply. ;)

Rocky,
Your the last person I'd expect to hear such an example of short term memory from.

Dah,
Jack

Daniel,

Yes, I think, we are in biz doing what our passion is about. Being regenerative in the grandist way possible is what the bottom line is about.

And I'm talking about a, maybe sesional, flood of jiberish.

This isn't Eden... this is the real world... you might have to page through a few threads on what kind of beer some kid likes to drink after work and what kind of chainsaw is best for a kid starting out... or why he's charging $10/tree, to get to the nuggets out there... That's just life... no free rides here at AS...

So make something good happen... share a few of your tips and tricks with us Jack!

Can't do that, my tips are only about the act of climbing which are minor details in the the surge of what is of interest here. Guess I'll have to go on lurking.

Thanks Dan,

Jack,
I think you deserve to give yourself a little more credit than that..
You're probably THE oldest climber here at AS... Big Jon says you're OK... so how do you do it? Get the climbing done, get up the next morning and keep that young and beautiful girlfriend of yours so happy? How do you charge, sell your jobs, get referals, hold the throw line... etc... You have plenty of info to share..
So give it up!:)

I don't know all those answers. Ya, I'm old in years and I live to climb. Want to do some rock climbing to improve tree climbing skills. I work with a couple of arborists, as a pruner of trees, they keep giving me bigger stff to work. I've more work than I can skedule.

This may sound arogant and, they hire me because of how the trees look and grow after I've pruned them. They call me the master pruner and I guess sell the jobs that way. Guess you wouldn't call a 'old' guy like me a dirt bag.

Big John, who is always teaching me stuff, is fast and certainly satifies his employers with his speed and skill. The people that hire me look at how the client reacts to the finished job. The tree esthetics that improves the trees look as well as better it's health and next seasons growth.

This is how I get jobs; very recognizable finish in the contract with the client. Not super speed, and I'm not slow, and big production. Even with estate contracts I usualy work alone.

Most of the arborists that I work for have other types of clients that 'don't care' and out of all of them the number that do care is growing. I'm real busy.

I've said to much, and maybe that is all that I wanted to be able to do tonight.

Thanks Dan,
Jack

We have a lad who works with us,Be for he started he worked for a company called Forrest fencing & came to work in his overalls the first day with forest on the back,So you guessed it Forest is working with me in the UK.

I'm fast and skilled? You made that sound like a bad thing. Do my trees not look good when I am finished? How about that locust tree I did? That was big improvement and I did that in about 3 minutes on my way to take the kids to a rollercoaster park.

I don't know what your getting at here Jack. Not personally about me I am just kidding around about all that.

Is that you don't see anything new or interesting to learn from. Are hungry for knowledge? Maybe you can come hang out with my crew and I for a day or two I am sure it would open your eyes in so many ways.

Big John, you son of a gun,

Ya, you're to fast and talented to be spending your time as a day to day grunting arborist. You should be traveling around the world in competition, lecturing, and teaching!

What's holding you back, dang it.

Thanks for the offer I'll take it. I don't know when. Right now I've a months worth of good work and need the $. Maybe in 2 weeks, I should have it all in stride by then. Can that work?

Later,
Jack

I'd say Big Jon's pruning work is absolutely first class.... then again I've never seen Roachy's work....
My rule of thumb is any time I can do a job in twice the time it would take Big Jon, that's a good job.... some of these big trees would take me 3-5x what Jon would take....
Let me make this clear... IT'S NOT A RACE... Speed is not the objective... merely the by-product of finesse...
