I've got all these nice Red Oak logs and I don't know if I'm going to mill them or split for firewood. Loading a log that's about 1000 pounds by yourself is a pain in the butt. A couple pics didn't come out so if it looks like a log is getting ready to fall, it's not. First I pulled them out in 8' logs, the draw bar would only get them about 8 inches off the ground with the chain. A put chocks on the side in the back and set it down on a small piece of wood. Took the chain off and dropped the draw bar all the way down and backed under the log and picked it up about 24" and put a big block under it. Then I backed the trailer up with about 2' of the log on the trailer. Took the tractor around to the other end and picked the far end up and shoved it on the trailer. I wanted to see if my boom would lift one end up on the trailer, but the shortest hook is about 3' back and it's too much leverage, tractor couldn't do it. At the draw bar it picked it up like a tooth pick, Joe.
