My dad has an old craftsman 3.7/18" that we have never had a problem with. My grandpa has a MAC Eager Beaver that will cut through anything you throw at it. My question is this: have they always been bad saws? I know MAC hasn't but what about crafstman? When i talk about crafstman, im not talking about the David Bradleys either.

No they weren't... Craftsman is a brand that once meant reasonable quality. Today it's just a brand... some good, some junk.. Whoring their brand will hurt them in the long run...

Hey Scott D. Where are you getting parts for those old Olympyks? I need a filter for a 355, and I ought to get one for my 951 before they are extinct.

Every olympyk/oleo-mac/olympic/efco I find in my searches I keep. I will sell parts to those in need though.

Old 3.7's are pretty bomb proof.

Gospel right there.

I picked up a couple of cheap ones to have some spares, now all I need is for my origonal 20yr old saw to die......

I figure all three will be in a collection 30yrs from now.

Anybody want to buy one?:D
