I need a radiator for a Vermeer 1250 chipper with a Perkins diesel. The dealer is 3 hours away, and I don't want to pay $500 for a new one. I've checked all my local sources, no one can even find one. Any ideas? HALP!!

Any good radiator shop can get you a new core. Lot cheaper than dealer especially Vermeer. I have had Vermeer stump grinders and brush chippers for years and very seldom went to them for parts. good Luck

Good luck finding a radiator shop anymore. They have for the most part gone the way of TV repair shops and shoe repair!

yeah 500 is good price, what were you expecting it to be?

when the radiator plugged on my 1250 it caused a 4800 dollar engine rebuild

I grew up in Northern Maine actually. I went through the radiator deal last year when a bolt rubbed a hole in the radiator of my processor. A machine with about 150hrs on it.
I ended up "fixing" it with stop leak since I couldn't afford $400 for a new rad because of a tiny pinhole.

Move to Maine all kinds of good radiator shops

I appreciate the replies. I THOUGHT it was $500 based on another thread I read. Called the dealer ready to go get it, they want $1800. So I laughed and hung up. Toon it to a shop and it's not fixable. Needs to be re-cored to the tune of $967. No radiator suppliers I've called can even find it. I thought it would be a common equipment radiator.
