Hi all, Just found this site.
What a great place. After seeing all the race saws and mod saws. All I can say is where do you start building one. Whats a good saw to start with. Believe me I go alot of the old monsters to some newer bigger ones that run great. ALso maybe interested is selling some of the older stuff too. Must be atleast 75 or more here. Parts to runners.
Thanks alot
Bob

Welcome to the fray! Ask 50 people this same question around here and you'll get 60 answers. Some have more than one favorite. It also depends a lot on what your goal is. I just want a saw I can work with and take to a get-together and not embarras myself for this I am a BIG fan of the Dolmar 7900. If you let the group know what your goal is then you'll get a more focused answer.

if you are going racing where there are no classes just open chainsaw then the 3120 or the 088 is the saw to have , they are both good saws to start with

Let me know what saws you have to sell and what prices you are thinking of. If you have a bunch then a package deal may be in order. Depending on what part of Wisconsin you are in I can be there in a few hours. Let me know. You can email me at [email protected].

Well in the next few days I will gather a list of the complete saws that I have around. Just brought 4 out to night to tinker with. A 10-10 , and 2 1-42 MC, and a C-5 homelite. 1 1-42 is stuck but has a long bar with the full exposed roller tip. Got alot of the MC monsters sitting around. Got a d44 with spark. A bucnh of homelites. Even found some deeres (30,60,80) the bigg 2 run great. My favorite was take because its junk husky 65. ???? mean saw that only needed a fuel link and a kill switch. Running a 20 full cheisel loger chain on it. Wicked wood cutter. I got to run the JD 80ev one of theses days it suppose to be bigger then the 65 so there should be some funn.
Later and thanks for the help
Oh by the way I am in darlington about 50 miles south west of Madison.

What kind of homelites do you have? I need a coil from a 450 or DM 50 and I'd like to have a 2100 model, if you've got a decently priced one. Check your control panel, I sent you a PM.
