Wanted a couple of spare 3/8 x 7 rim sprockets for Stihl 661 and 361. All the local dealers are sold out of the OEM stihl sprockets here in North Carolina.
Online they are quite expensive for the Stihl OEM rim sprocket part number 000 642 1223.
Baileys is $16.50 and sold out. Amazon has the oem sprocket for $24.00
The Oregon brand sprocket on Amazon is $12.00
HL Supply sells a no name for $5.00

I never ever had good luck with cheap Chinese parts.

Is it worth searching for the OEM Stihl sprocket ? or are there any other brands worth using that will not let you down ? lots of no name sprockets available.
Thanks

Appreciate the reply. In today's world it is hard to believe that a company still runs with a catalog and no online store. It's old school and cool.
Looks like they have a lot of good stuff and excellent customer service.

There are so many fake items on Amazon and ebay.

May try the oregon brand sprockets
if I cant find the Stihl

Thanks

Madsen's has been around for a very long time. They are one of the best in the logging biz. Call them...great folks to talk with.
the only Stihl only rims are for the sm spline saws, usually in .325. Those and any other brand are not compatible as they are a 1mm different ID.

Looks like P&P Small engines is a Stihl dealer and has the OEM STIHL 0000 642 1223 3/8-7 Rim Sprocket for $9.49 each if you buy 4 or $9.95 each.

Found this post that the says the US made Oregon rims are a thing of the past and only made in China now.

I wonder if the Stihl rims are made in China ?
Never had good luck with Chinese made products that were critical.
