Only stihl i hate is the 019T,

wish me luck, i got a 020T handle to do tomarrow, dropped from tree, got the parts today.

I also hate the little homelites, the xl 2's or some ????, a guy gave me 11 of them, they went in the dumpster before i got home.

If you want a fair analysis of how difficult the particuliar brands are to work on, list them. Them have everyone list them in the order they think they are to work on. Later Butch

hlw49,

What this was really about for me was that I struggle with with working on most Stihls. It just seems that the engineers did not have servicibility in mind when they layed out the designs. I know Stihls are durable saws for the most part, I just don't enjoy working on them.

The poll showed that some others apparently hold a like viewpoint, and I've always wondered about that.

I'm not totally biased. I sell Efcos, and they are not the easiest saws on the market to deal with.

I also sell Jonsered, and they are easy to work on. the new ones that is. Thats why I said "current model products"

Would have to agree. Stihl is about the hardest saw to work on. The easiest being the Husky. Later Butch

tough

Guess it is your point of view. After 20 years I can whip out a Stihl in less than half the time of any other saw, but that is 90 percent of what I repair. If all I did was Huskys, I am sure they would be faster than anything else. I can repair a chevy quicker because I spent 10 years in a gm dealership. Allin what you are familiar with.
