I don't know what caused the heat damage, I got it that way. Everything around the clutch/brake was pretty cooked, so I am guessing someone either got it stuck and tried to get it free with nothing but throttle, or had the chain brake on, and couldn't figure out why it wouldn't go, so they did nothing but throttle. The saws cam from a tool rental place, so I am assuming extreme incompetence in the previous users.
I am going to use the 029 P/C. I just saw using acid on the MS290 cylinder as an opportunity to play with a new skill.
