Hey Fellas,
I've been lurking here for a while and wanted to finally say hello and thanks for all the great advice and knowledge you all share on this site. I started cutting wood after I saw the price stores were charging for pecan wood for my bbq pit and it kind of snowballed from there. You know the story...family and friends know you have a saw and pretty soon your cutting trees and firewood for everyone. I don't complain though, I love doing it and my heating bill is always cheap.
I started out with a ex home depot rental Makita 6401 and wanted a bigger saw when I found out about a local tree guy was getting out of the business and selling off all their equipment. I got all the saws(except the makita) in the pics. The guy also threw in a bunch of bars, chains, 150 foot of brand new arbor-plex bull rope and a stihl handheld elecrtic sharpener.
Anyway, I don't need all these saws, just got a good deal for buying all at once and a few needed a little tlc. I was thinking about keeping 3(small medium and large) but's it's just too hard to figure out which ones to keep. What are your thoughts?
084- 150+ psi comp. Replaced chain tensioner. My back hurts looking just looking at this saw. Makes easy work of stumps and big live oaks though.
066- loaned out to bro for weekend(with pre-mixed gas, lol)- 150+ PSI comp. Will cut anything I need.
440- 150+ psi comp. Light and well balanced.
038 mag 2 - 155 psi comp. Replaces rim, av buffers, guide plate, honed cylinder and replaced rings. Torque monster, Un-Godly loud, neighbors hate me when I crank it up
Makita 6401- 155 psi comp. Has the best anti vibe of all. Probably the most comfortable to use all day.
MS310- 165 psi comp. Still has the tag on the front. Replaced cracked handle and air filter cover. Prior owner said that saw had 10-15 hours when an employee dropped it from bucket truck.
MS200T- haven't checked comp but it runs perfect. This saw is a little screamer.
