Just got done loading it on his truck and the tally came in at 930 linear Ft. which surprised me because my rough guess was in the neighborhood of 600 FT. The guy was a pleasure to deal with and it was only a couple of days worth of hard but fun work as I got to run my saws and play in the woods.

I've never done any real bucking with snow on the ground and it actually made it easier because the snow was acting like natures saw horse, and the bar never got pinched as I could cut all the way through and not to worry about hitting dirt. I got pics on my phone and I'll post them when I figure out how.

Btw the trees were local, organic and free range.

Bunch of sausages here in the UP going around cutting them illegally on private and public property. If I ever see someone doing it I'll be sure to donate their plate # to the DNR.

Yellow Birch logs brings in decent money for veneer ply and White Birch is a boutique wood that people use as accents in their home. In my case the builder needed straight 3 to 6 inch diameter trees for a high end addition he was doing.

A neighbor called and asked me if I was interested in selling White Birch saplings that I have lining my lower driveway. He needs 1'000 FT and needs them to be about 3 to 4" diameter. I've looked on line and found "pristine" Birch poles for sale from northern Minnesota for about 4 to 5 dollars a foot. The trees if you can call them that are in an easily accessible location and I'll be doing all the cutting. I'm thinking of charging him $4 a FT what do you guys think, is this a good price?

I have a white birch in my back yard I'd love to donate but I'm in Washington state, and someone would need to cut it down. It's beautiful and pretty tall, it also has a lot of little starts all over my yard that could be pulled up for someone wanting to grow their own.
