Gonna take the norwood to an old fellas house and mill up some white spruce for him. First paying job w/the mill. Anything anyone can tell me about milling this species or anything special I should be doing? I have only done cottonwood, birch, and box elder on this mill so far, and this will be my first softwood that could present pitch problems. The logs have been down for about 2 years. Thanks ya'll.

It sure will and even help get the pitch stains out of your clothing.

For your saw next time you get it cleaned up real good, give it a wipe down with one of those dryer sheet thingys (bounce or something, i line dry everything so forgot the name) you'll find it makes your next clean up easier, stops smokelss poweder from sticking in a plastic funnel, make cleaning your gas trimmer or mower a breeze.............wow almost like a wd-40 thread.

Get ones out out of the box, look from the outside in..............damn this beer is good!

His wife is going to be wondering where all the dryer sheets have gone to now....

This went off pretty good. Had a couple of blade dips cutting some 20+ inch boards through a couple of knots. I think it had more to do with my throttle not working correctly. That thing is a PITA to keep adjusted so it actually works. I'm thinking of changing it to an ATV thumb throttle or something. I used pinesol in the water tank and didn't note any noticable pitch build up. Here is the whack of lumber I cut up for him. I must have been cutting too fast or perhaps too slow because he initially was going to have me cut for 2 days, but opted for just one. He was about 80yrs old and said he had enough 1x to las the rest of his life and said if I came back the next day he would only have me cut more 2x4's, so we wrapped up and I went home. I cut 400bf in about 7hrs.

Attached crappy cell phone pics; forgot the nice camera.
