I remember a thread (not well enough to find it again) but someone here had what i think was a 440/460 that looked to be airbrushed with flames and really looked quiet good. It gave me an idea, i have my fathers old 046 that has a broken crank, i cant find a crank and don't need the saw but i was thinking it would look awesome painted up like that and hanging up in the old guys bar as a bit of memorabilia, it would make a good talking point for the old boys over a beer or two.

Here is my 441 Sawzilla:

Here is John's (Porche965) 460, this is a thing of beauty. The paint job is worth more than the saw, LOL:

Give me a minute, and you'll have some pics of them.

That saw is too pretty to use...

I think I can come up with a crank for your 046.

Well I'm pretty sure John's 460 is safe from much work (that would just be wrong), but my 441 got well used and is still getting used. The new Mtronics is helping give it a break though, LOL.

Whoever did those saws did a great job and I'd love to have one but I'd never be able to bring myself to do any serious cutting with it.

Mate they look awesome, (maybe too awesome), i remembered seeing one and liking it but now i love it, so who does the art work like that, sere in Tas we can draw stick men but thats about it, sort of looks like i could send the covers off to get them done without needing to send the whole (15.10lb haha) saw.

Yeah, I begged for it not to happen to my saw, as I truly needed it for work, and I knew it would be hard to use it after it was painted, that said, I didn't use it for weeks, then I really, really needed it to work so it doesn't look like that anymore, LOL.

Cutting firewood wouldn't be so bad, but mine had lived a normal life of logging and getting drug around the woods, and the paint won't hold up, but it has done better than I thought it would.

The painter/artist is in Des Moine, IA, he and the saw builder swapped some work or something out for the paint jobs. I know the painter if you are truly interested in having it done. He is really, really good, does cars, bikes and boats mostly. He can airbrush a face and it looks like a photograph.

If you can give that saw a good cleaning, and have it prepped well... I can make that saw look just like Porsche's, for the cost of paint and shipping (hey, Im in a good mood tonight!)...
If you want it clear coated, I sub that out- but wouldnt be much. If it will just be a display piece, there are other options. Let me know what you want and I can make it happen... To be honest, I didnt know there was that much interest here.
I did a Harley a couple years ago, I will try and dig up some pictures. It ended up doing really well in a local show. Had another Harley this last winter that I turned away because of other work.
Its a hobby for me, and I need to get back into it. Between work, saws, and cutting wood- I just havent made much time for it. Let me know if you are interested, I need to get the Iwata's back at it.

In Memory....

The 460 Sawzilla (not the painted bar of course) will be run every year on October 4th for a Baker's Dozen of cookies.

The 441 C Sawzilla will be used every chance that arises.

I really really miss this guy. RIP Terry
