who needs fuel filters anyway

This was off a very nice looking, new looking poulan 3416 I picked up for cheap so I could fix it. There was no filter in the tank that I could see. I had to order a cheap carb on ebay cuz I could not get the needle out!
Even if you got the needle out, it would not operate.
Some serious meticulous cleaning ahead of you there.
yeah, seems like there was a bunch of corrosion as well. The rest of the saw seems excellent!! ( for a poulan)
That is corrosion. DO NOT waste your time on a corroded carburetor. The metal is pitted at the inlet. Time for a carb in better shape.
Apparently not this guy.
I suspect poulan has the patent on that...
haha, I sometimes remove the filter briefly (with a clean fuel tank) if I'm trying to diagnose the cause of a fuel delivery issue.
