Dave's a great guy. He's built 4 saws for me. Never met him in person, talked on the phone many times. He's been building saws since Noah was a boat builder:jester:

On the 30th and the 1st we will be in Luther and Fife Lake, i'll be there along with twinturboram(thats my boyfriend), woodsjunkie, cut4fun, (they are both good friends of ours, we all live within 30 minutes of each other) and thats all that I know of, hope to have a great time up there!! I'm running in the womens class at both, thought about doing the axe throw, but men and women are competing together so im not sure I want to go up there and embarass myself that much

Don't you worry none about making a fool of yourself, half of these guys couldn't hit a bull in the rear with a bass fiddle when it comes down to it. Any way Rhonda Helsel, Jill Bredahl, Pattie Raven and a host of other Gals will be in it too.

I still dont think i'm ready. I'm a VERY newbie at it, i can usually stick 3, but not always. I have never even competed in ANYTHING for real yet. We had a S oHio GTG that we went for time and i did real good, but I dont think i know enough about the axe throw yet to compete with a bunch of men and women who know just what they are doing thank you for the confidence booster though!

Luther Contest

Fife Lake contest is put on by the Helsel family and local merchants, it is almost a twin of Luther. I beleive Cliff said they were starting the contest itself at 12:00 noon so sign ins would probably start at 10:30 or 11:00 AM.

I believe you are correct. It is in June not July.

I got to meet Dave earlier this year and he is a heck of a nice guy. The shows should be a good time. Hope to gain some knowledge while I'm up there.

Damn lake sure gets in the way, it's 450 mi for me. Would have to go through Chicago and back up. I just got back from Yellowstone, not ready for another big trip. Sure wish it was closer.

I did a "map quest" thing and both are about 5 and a half hours for me.With that in mind ,it's still up in the air weather I make it or not.

It all depends on my work .If I'm required to work until 2 AM in the morning,Sat.,then Fife lake is out.If I don't work the weekend,Luther is a go.

Well,whatever the case,I'll end up with two modded saws,perhaps a good thing,perhaps not,depending on how well I wield a die grinder and a file.
