how many crews are primed and ready to go chasing. this year. after last year i wonder. i have seen alot of large cleanup crews selling their equipment this spring. i am getting my last little details together to go provide relief whereever this year. so lets hear your stories and predictions on the season.

while I understand the money is goood to go storm chasing, but what happens when you get so involved in the relief in a state far away that you begin to neglect your usual customers where your business normally operates?

I always plan on all of the hurricanes hitting me. I think I'll be paranoid for the rest of my life after being hit with 3 hurricanes in a row. Tampa may get a big one this year. They've been too lucky so far. Tallahassee is going to get it sooner or later too.

I just wish the storms would come through FL in the winter and scare off the Yankees. I'd like to see them live for 3 weeks w/o power or airconditioning.

:hmm3grin2orange: That is so funny! Best of luck to you this year, my fingers are crossed down here as well.

John464, that is why we don't chase the storm work...our clients depend on us here. We do appreciate the folks that come down after a storm. We could not recover with out them, so if you are a chaser...thanks!

yep, lost alot of customers while being away at Katrina.
My so called partner was supposed to be taking care of things at home while I was down south, come to find out he was subbing the work out to other people, leaving me out of the picture while I was paying him a cut on what I made.
I did finish a job that he subbed out to a couple guys that ended up dropping a huge limb through a garage..... they collected 1000.00 bucks from the home owner and ran with it. I still split with him what money was left of the job.
He asked me a couple times to join up with him over a 2 year period, I knew better, but he made it sound real good.... lies
A climber that I trained and gave a chance to NOT have to sleep in the back of his car, decided to cut my throat down south after he stole some tools from me. Seems 400.00 a day wasn't enough for another.
Ripped off by a flimflam contractor.
Leaves a bad taste in my mouth.
Where's the loyalty, thanks, goodness and give a hoot?
Anything else come from W.V. other than crackhead - backstabbers?
Back to start for me now.

Boo that sucks.
I linked up with another climber from this board (treeslayer), his ground help, and chased Ivan. We had to camp stove and a tent and 18 chainsaws.:greenchainsaw:

We pulled a large ad it worked.
