I'm going to put a new plug on it.[/QUOTE]

Why, You think the plug is fouled, :monkey:

Nice find, Never heard of one of them before.
I looked at Mike Acres site and couldn't find the year.

Make sure you have that plugged in to the GFCI (aka GFI). The metal case can give you one he11 of a whack if a wire arks.

Great to have next to the stove for quick small cuts.

And boy don't I know it. Wasn't 5 minutes after I posted this thread last night, I went over to ebay just to look. Well within a few minutes there I now have a Jonsered 490 on the way, just to compare it to my Partner 5000 and Poulan Pro 325!

This will make 6 in the last 2 weeks. Then theres this guy at work who wants to get rid of a Homelite 410:dizzy::bang:

Two digit postal zone codes were introduced in 1943 and were phased out after the introduction of the five digit Zip Code system in 1963. Five digit Zips were mandatory by 1967. The Skilsaw company changed it's name to Skil Corporation in 1952. So that would at least give us a possible start date.

Small world. Another one.

This one is missing the plastic brush cap. Touch that uncovered area while it is running and you will get to feel 110vac. The plug on the short cord coming off of the saw is called a twist lock. They used to be popular years ago since they would not pull apart as easily as a regular cord will. The extension cord on this one is missing the grounding prong on the male end. These saws, as pointed out earlier, are quite capable of lighting you up with their all metal construction, and need to be properly grounded and should be used with a GFCI for safety.

My Grandpa who just recently passed at 95 1/2 years old always told me to stay the hell away from doctors! (he pretty much did)

I guess when I get ready I'll just have to work out this CAD on my own.
