Can anyone tell me what the typical width of a mancab on a chip truck would be? If I buy a truck with a mancab on it, I would want to remove the cab and build a platform for carrying my 36" wide mini skid between the truck cab and chip box. I would need this width to be at least 40-42". Anyone know the actual dimention of the cab and also the full width between the back of the truck cab to the front of the chip box?

Thanks.

Here's the dimention I'm looking for (see attachment)...

Mine measures 42 1/4". There is an inch and a half gap between the man cab and the dump box. Also there is a gap between the actual cab of the truck on the mancab so you should have enough room.

I've got a spare mancab truck and was thinking about taking it off and installing a knuckleboom or a grapple.

Thanks. If it's indeet 42", that would give me 3" on either side - not a lot but enough to make a platform for the mini. Obviously, if I find a truck, I'll have to get a measurement on that truck but it gives me hope that this idea will work.

Might want to try and find a old tommy lift and fab it to the frame on the side, would make loading and unloading a snap. Dont know the lift capacity of a TL, but its worth a look.
