I dont know where you got that info but its wrong.The 2900 in my shop right now is a clamshell. It wont fit a wildthaing but it is a clamshell design.the 2800-2900 aren't a clam shell engines. won't fit.
So where and when is this Wildthing race?

My WT is back together with the "new" P&C, and a new ring. It's turning 13,300-13,500. It even has a proper clutch cover now
