I planted 2 apples, a pear and a cherry in spring. New BrunswickCanada, zone 5a. Wind is pretty much constant. Temps around -15c/5f but can dip to -30c/-22f. By March there's a solid foot of snow at least. Their position is rather exposed
Option a. a sort of lean to of roofing steel and wood to prevent snow load on the branches (they're about 4 feet tall each)
Option b. Burlap, also protects from the wind but may act like a sail and start breaking branches
Option c. A combination of the 2
I've got protective spiral but was looking for further suggestions, I can't find much relevant information. Thanks
