Anyone know what I have here.....I am pretty sure it's a type of maple from the leaves that were left on tree.....thanks

Bark is not as shaggy as silver. Leaf is very different too. They are both soft maple so similar. Swamp red will take a little longer to dry as it holds more water.

I would say swamp/red maple as well. Silver at that diameter should have rougher bark. Either way it's some sort of soft maple. It will dry quickly and burn quickly as well. Not a terrible firewood.

The nursery grown Silver maples won't shag out like the indigenous ones even when they get larger. Plus the limb wood on the bigger silvers takes a long time to get shaggy.
