Thanks for the confirm PA - I'm pysched to have my own supply of hickory finally. I have big barbecue plans for this stuff!

Yes, its great stuff. Does it have an odor like manure to it? I've split Hickory and it smelled liked manure and flies were buzzing around it within minutes!

Pretty strong smell to it yes.

Here's the leaf of the mockernut hickory:

The bark is quite different from the shagbark hickory. Both do have quite a color contrast between the sapwood and heartwood.
